Lucille Turner writes historical fiction inspired by extraordinary lives. Her novels celebrate the people whose ideas, courage, and imagination have shaped history, combining careful research with compelling storytelling.

Her first novel, Gioconda, was described by The Financial Times as “a lush, evocative and remarkably accomplished debut novel.” It was translated into several languages and won Spain’s Hislibris Prize for Historical Fiction in 2012.

Lucille Turner’s second novel, The Sultan, the Vampyr and the Soothsayer, received a Bronze Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) in 2017.

She holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature and has worked as a translator, journalist and teacher. Alongside writing novels, she reviews recently published books for Bookmunch.

Her latest novel,Master of Gravity, tells the story of Isaac Newton and will be published in 2027 to coincide with the 300th anniversary of his death.

When she isn’t writing, Lucille enjoys exploring historic places, reading widely and researching the remarkable people whose stories continue to shape the modern world. She lives in the New Forest in southern England.
